Energy / Solutions / Shutdown & turnaround
The window does not move.
A shutdown is a fixed window with a fixed cost of overrun. Temporary power and air carry the loads that cannot stop while the permanent system is de-energised — mobilised before the window opens, proven under load before it matters, and attended for the duration.

01You’re here because
One of these is true.
- Switchgear, transformer or UPS maintenance requires the permanent supply de-energised.
- A plant turnaround needs power for tooling, lighting and temporary facilities.
- Critical loads — control rooms, instrument air, cooling — cannot go down with the rest of the plant.
- The permanent supply is being upgraded or replaced in a live facility.
- A statutory inspection requires the system offline.
02How we deliver it
Planned shutdown & turnaround power
01
Mobilised before the window
Equipment lands, gets connected and gets tested before the shutdown starts. Nothing about a turnaround should be discovering a fault on the temporary set at hour one.
02
Proven under load first
Sets are load-bank tested and, where the arrangement demands it, paralleled and proven before the permanent supply is opened. The commissioning record goes into your shutdown pack.
03
Documentation cleared in advance
Risk assessment and method statement, third-party inspection certificates, operator and technician certifications, insurance — prepared to the operating company’s requirements and cleared before mobilisation day, not at the gate.
04
Attended for the duration
Engineer cover for the window, not a phone number. On long or critical turnarounds a technician stays on site with spares for the units deployed.
05
Redundancy where the load demands it
Critical loads get N+1 rather than a single set. The cost of a second generator is trivial against the cost of extending a shutdown.
Shutdown & turnaround
What clients ask.
How far ahead should we book shutdown power?
As early as the window is fixed. Shutdown seasons cluster in the UAE and the sets, cabling and — critically — the engineers get committed. Early booking also gives time to clear site-access documentation, which is usually the longer lead item. Can you work to our permit-to-work and HSE system?
Yes. We work under the facility’s permit system and supply the documentation pack — RA&MS, third-party inspection certificates, operator certifications and insurance — cleared to the operating company’s requirements before mobilisation.Do you supply instrument or utility air during a shutdown?
Yes. Industrial and oil-free air compressors are available alongside power, which matters when the permanent compressor is part of what is being shut down. Specify the flow, pressure and whether the duty is instrument-grade and we will size it.What if the shutdown overruns?
Extensions are normal and we plan for them. Hire terms cover an extension window on agreed rates so an overrun is a scheduling conversation rather than a commercial one.
